Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[18F]TRACK is a fluorine-18-labeled small molecule radiopharmaceutical designed as a positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tracer for the in vivo quantification of tropomyosin receptor kinases (Trk) in the brain. Developed as an optimized derivative of the carbon-11-labeled tracer [11C]-(R)-IPMICF16, [18F]TRACK exhibits high selectivity and affinity for TrkB and TrkC receptors, with significantly reduced P-glycoprotein (P-gp) efflux liability and improved brain kinetics. The tracer is primarily utilized in clinical research to investigate alterations in Trk receptor density associated with neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, and to evaluate target engagement of novel Trk-targeted therapeutics.
